A full-service interior designer manages every aspect of your project from initial concept through final installation. At Jenna Degen Interiors, that means research, concept development, space planning, material and finish selections, furniture sourcing, contractor coordination, and on-site oversight — so you don't have to manage dozens of decisions and vendor relationships on your own. Think of it as having a trusted expert and project manager in one, whose sole focus is making sure your home turns out exactly the way you envisioned.

Luxury interior design is typically priced in a few different ways — hourly, flat fee, or as a percentage of the overall project budget. At Jenna Degen Interiors, we charge a flat fee. We tailor our flat fee to the scope and scale of each project, whether that's a focused furnishings refresh or a full home renovation. A meaningful renovation project typically involves design fees in the range of several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars depending on complexity, alongside the construction and furnishings budget. We'll give you a clear proposal after an initial discovery call so there are no surprises.

For most renovation and new construction projects, yes — and often significantly so. We bring established relationships with quality vendors, skilled tradespeople, and trusted contractors that take years to build and simply aren't available to someone starting from scratch. That network means better access to exceptional materials, reliable workmanship, and people who show up and do the job right. Beyond the network, we absorb the relentless stream of decisions that renovation projects generate — materials, finishes, sequencing, substitutions — so you're involved in the choices that matter most without being buried in the ones that don't. More importantly, the cost of a single major mistake in a renovation — a cabinet layout that doesn't work, a tile that can't be returned, a contractor miscommunication — can easily exceed the cost of professional guidance. Our clients consistently tell us the investment was worth it for the peace of mind alone.

Timelines vary considerably by project type. A furnishings and styling project for a single room might take 2–4 months from kickoff to installation. A kitchen or bathroom remodel typically runs 6–12 months once you factor in design, permitting, construction, and finishing. A full home renovation or new construction project can span 12–24+ months. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your project proposal — and because we manage the process closely, we work hard to keep things on schedule.

For straightforward decorating or small rooms, many homeowners do successfully go it alone. But for renovations, new construction, large scale furnishings or any project involving contractors and meaningful design decisions, the value of working with an expert goes far beyond aesthetics.
At Jenna Degen Interiors, we bring the kind of guidance that only comes from years of experience across hundreds of design decisions — knowing which materials will hold up, which layouts will actually improve the function of the way you live, which vendors deliver consistently, and which tradespeople do exceptional work and treat your home with care. That expertise shapes every recommendation we make, from the first space plan to the final finish selection.
We bring a cohesive vision and a clear plan to execute it — so the finished result feels intentional, not assembled piece by piece over time.
Our clients consistently tell us the value in working with us isn’t only in what we added — it was in the problems and stress we helped them avoid. The cabinet layout that would have created a dead corner. The tile lead time that would have stalled construction. The contractor assumption that would have cost thousands to undo. That, and arriving at the end of a complex project with a home that looks and feels even better than they hoped it would.

Jenna Degen Interiors is based in Portland, Oregon and serves clients throughout the Portland metro area and surrounding communities. Within Portland, we work with homeowners in the city's most established and sought-after neighborhoods — Dunthorpe, Southwest Hills, Arlington Heights, Irvington, Alameda, Eastmoreland, Forest Park, Sellwood, and the West Hills. Beyond the city, our primary service area extends to Lake Oswego, West Linn, Stafford, Happy Valley, Camas, and Vancouver.
These are communities defined by exceptional homes and homeowners who understand the value of getting every detail right. Our clients in these areas typically come to us for renovations, new construction, and whole-home projects where the stakes are high and the details matter.
We also work selectively with clients in the Seattle metro area and across the greater Pacific Northwest, as well as on the West Coast — including California — for projects where the fit and scope are right.
If you're outside our primary service area and have a project you'd like to discuss, we'd love to hear from you. The best place to start is a complimentary discovery call — a chance for us to learn about your project, share how we work, and determine together whether we're the right fit for each other.

We work on three main types of projects: full-service design for remodels and renovations (kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home), full-service design for new construction in partnership with your architect and builder, and furnishings and styling projects where construction isn't involved. While each is handled with the same attentiveness and care — the scope and fee structure reflect the complexity of what's involved.

The spaces we create reflect the people who live in them, not a signature aesthetic. Every project starts with deep listening: to your life, your story, how you move through your home, what restores you, and what brings you joy.
Jenna's design sensibility has been shaped by decades of international living and global travel — experiences that brought her into contact with extraordinary artisans, materials and craftsmanship, and an expansive understanding of how beauty shows up differently around the world. That breadth of influence is present in everything we do.
Jenna is drawn to quality that lasts — materials that age beautifully, craftsmanship that holds up, and spaces that feel just as right in ten years as they do on the day of installation. Textures and colors are drawn from the natural world: stone, wood, linen, leather, the quiet palette of landscape and season. Natural materials are chosen not just for their beauty but for the life and energy they bring to a room.
Jenna approaches light as one of the most powerful tools in design — studying how it moves through a space, how it shifts through the day, and how it can completely change the way a room feels. Getting the light right is never an afterthought.
At the heart of everything we do is a deep belief that your home should support your wellbeing. The way a space is designed — its light, its materials, its flow, its feeling — has a profound effect on how you feel every day. We design with that in mind always, creating homes that are not just beautiful to look at, but genuinely nourishing to live in.

Our clients lead full, demanding lives — and our full-service approach is designed with that in mind. You'll be involved in the decisions that matter most: setting the creative direction, weighing in on key material selections, and approving major milestones. Everything else — contractor coordination, trade communication, order tracking, site oversight, and the countless details that accumulate over the course of a project — we handle completely.
This is what full-service design truly means. Not just beautiful spaces, but a process that respects your time and protects your peace of mind. You won't be chasing down contractors, managing delivery schedules, or making decisions under pressure on a job site. That's our job.
Many of our clients tell us that handing off the complexity was the greatest relief of the entire experience — that they were able to stay present for the moments that mattered while trusting us completely with the rest. If you've been putting off a renovation because the process feels like too much to take on, we'd love to hear from you and discuss how we can support you.
